The General Office of Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China recently published , and three professors of our university, XIAO Yongping, CHEN Chuanfu and WANG Xigen are on the list. This number, same as Peking University and Renmin University of China, is the top among universities all over the country.
So far, our university have 5 professors selected in total. Professor WANG Xinyan from the Philosophy School was selected in second round in 2006. The Dean of College of Humanities and Social Science, professor from the School of Marxism, SHEN Zhuanghai was selected in third round in 2008.
XIAO Yongping, the Dean of Wuhan University Law School, doctoral supervisor. His major research direction is private international law, international trade law and international commercial arbitration. He has published 7 personal treatises, including Conflicts of Laws from a Jurisprudence Perspective, General Principles of Private International Law, Private International Law. He edited over 10 textbooks, treatises and memoirs, including Study on Unified Private International Law in EU, Legal Conflicts and Coordination between Mainland and Hong Kong, International Law for the 21st Century. He also has published over 170 papers on authoritative and core journals, such as Social Sciences in China.
CHEN Chuanfu, the Dean of Graduate School of Wuhan University, doctoral supervisor, mainly studies the information resources management, library development theory, intellectual property and other aspects. He has published multiple treatises, and published over 100 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals and conferences. He has presided over 20 major projects of National Social Science Foundation and National Natural Science Foundation. His research results were compiled and reported to the leaders of the Party and the country for reference. Relevant results were adopted and applied in projects such as the National Science and Technology Library.
WANG Xigen, the Vice Dean of Wuhan University Law School, doctoral supervisor. He has been researching for a long time in jurisprudence, human rights law, judicial reform and the theory of rule of law. He has presided over nearly 20 projects, such as the major project of the Ministry of Education, "the Right to Development and the rule of law in China" (2003-2009), and the major project of the Top Ten Major Legal Research Projects in China, "Study on the Reform of Judicial System" (2009-2011). He has also published over 100 articles in journals such as Chinese Journal of Law and nearly 20 treatises.
It is known that the "Four a Batch of" Talents Cultivation Project is a national special project, with the purpose of strengthening the cultivation of leading figures and various high-level specialized personnel, with the focus on strengthening the cultivation of young and middle-aged talents, high-level managerial talents and specialized technical talents in the four fields of theory, journalism, publishing and literature and art. In order to adapt to the new tasks and requirements of the work of publicity, further intensify personnel training development, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China adjusted and combined the Cultural Experts Project and the "Four a Batch of " Talents Cultivation Project of the national publicity and culture system from the characteristics of team of talents and practical work. The orginal "Four a Batch of " Talents Cultivation Project of the national publicity and culture system is now turned into the Cultural Experts Project and the "Four a Batch of " Talents Cultivation Project as a whole. This time a total of 362 people was selected all over the country.
