The award ceremony of the 2009-2010 "Hundred Talents Award" was held in Nanjing on June 8, 2010.
XU Mengli, a 2008 postgraduate student under the guidance of professor HE Qisheng, won the Prize. The Committee of 100 is a famous non-governmental ethic Chinese organization in the United States. It was founded in1990 in New York by famous Chinese American Leoh Ming Pei and Yo-Yo Ma, and its members are Chinese Americans with great influence and popularity in American society. The organization has played an important role in promoting the cultural exchanges between Asia and the United States as well as in enhancing the mutual understanding and exchanges between the Greater China region and the American people. The "Hundred Talents Award" is a long-term program established by the committee of 100 in China. It aims to support China in cultivating new era elites with both excellent academic skills and ability, strengthen the connection with Chinese colleges and universities, and jointly cultivate outstanding talents. The prize is awarded once a year. And candidates are excellent postgraduates coming from 14 universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua university and Wuhan university. So far, 136 postgraduates have won the prize.
