First of all, the host Professor He Qisheng introduced the distinguished guests who attended the forum. The doctoral and master students present at the scene gave warm applause to the guests. Professor He Qisheng summed up the issues that everyone was more concerned about during the forum. The first question was given to Mr. Huang Jin as the first Chinese private doctor in New China. How to spend time at the postgraduate stage? Professor Huang Jin recalled his experience in the postgraduate study period. He mentioned that he had entered the legal profession ailthough his first choice is Chinese. Then he pointed out that the students of that era had three characteristics. First, the students very cherish the opportunity to learn, whether from urban or rural areas, the second is that the teachers are very dedicated, because there is no teaching and research in the past ten years, and because the number of students is very small, there are many opportunities for teachers and students to communicate. The relationship between teachers and students is also very high. There are often teachers who go to the student dormitory to chat. In such a environment where students and teachers cherish the environment, learning is very effective; Professor Huang Jin said that there was no division of international public law, private international law and international economic law at that time. There is also no clear division of faculty. "I went to the Swiss Institute of International Law for a year during my doctoral studies. I could have stayed abroad, but for a dream, that is, I am the first international private law graduate student in China. I think I should also become the first doctoral student of China’s private international law, for this dream, I came back after the one-year visit. I of course, realize my dream. "

Professor Zhu Wenqi, Renmin University of China also said that his master's, doctoral and post-doctoral studies were completed abroad, then he went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then went to the International Criminal Court and finally returned to China. Comparing the differences in educational methods at home and abroad, Professor Zhu pointed out that there are obvious differences between foreign countries and China, and our education methods must change. Professor Zhu said that the foreign education methods are mainly based on the discussion of students, especially the current events and major international law events. This kind of discussion is a good exercise for students to learn all aspects of international law theory and practice. And it is effective. Professor Zhu finally pointed out that there must be proficient people in the study and research of international law, but there are still too few talents in our country.

Regarding the gender differences in legal study and research, Professor Liu Xiaohong from East China University of Political Science and Law, combined with her own experience, said that when women consider continuing their academic studies, there are indeed many resistances from various aspects in China. We must overcome ourselves to get the tolerance of society.

Professor Zhang Xianglan from Wuhan University talked about the problem of dress and personal image, pointing out that a person’s image and dress have a close relationship with his social communication, and told everyone that there should be different dress and image standards on different occasions, and proposed five taboos in clothes: exposed, transparent, tight, strange, We should pay attention to match the clothes.

Next, President Xiao Yongping of Wuhan University Law School talked about the relationship between postgraduate study and the current master-docter combined program. He pointed out that in the past, undergraduate and master students were doing unconscious reading, they did not have to worry about work, now it is different, the purpose is more utilitarian. For the current students, the mastery of knowledge in each major is far from enough, and it is not clear about the purpose of learning. Therefore, Dean Xiao Yongping does not agree with master-docter combined program.

In the next free questioning stage, all the Ph.D. students and graduate students who participated in this forum were very active in participating in the interaction and asking questions. Some students asked how to deal with the relationship between various disciplines, including the relationship between professional study and general study. President Xiao Yongping of Wuhan University pointed out that it is necessary to do stuff according to his future goals. If he is engaged in teaching, he will spend more time on professional study; for the master's degree, it is recommended that the knowledge should be broader, and in most cases, forget about your major. Some students also asked questions about how to prepare for a good doctoral thesis. Professor Zhu Wenqi of Renmin University of China, combined with his own experience, said that in France, there is another stage called DEA (diplome d'etude approfondie). Pre-doctoral study must be qualified. It includes both public and private international law. The test is both written and verbal. As long as we fail a test, we cannot enter the next stage. There are also papers at this stage. Professor Zhu pointed out that we need to have a change of thinking. For example, we often want teachers to offer to help me, but what should be thought about is: What about I offer to turn to teacher for help? Professor Zhu believes that for learning and research, active and passive attitude, have very different effects. In short, what is needed is passion and excitement, and the most fearless attitude. Regarding the differences between male and female students in the academic research thinking of law, Professor Liu Xiaohong proposed that there are indeed differences between men and women based on her own experience:

(1) Girls have a great advantage in their ability to learn a language.

(2) In terms of logical thinking, men are more meticulous and comprehensive, and women are more sensible when thinking about problems, especially legal issues.

(3) In the course of research, women's concentration is lower than that of men. Because of the different division of labor in society, the functions given by gender itself, women sacrifice more in the family. So learn to deal with the relationship between family and learning.

Some students have suggested that the number of masters of law in China is the highest in the world, but there are still many problems in the rule of law in China. Vice President Huang Jin of Wuhan University pointed out that graduates of law schools do not necessarily have to work in law majors. People from all walks of life can be graduates from law schools. However, the problems that arise after enrollment expansion also need to be considered, but the problems will be overcome. Although the enrollment ratio of college students in China has improved, the problem of the law major is that any school can run a law school, which brings up many problems.

Regarding the development of rule of law in China, Professor Zhu Wenqi proposed that China is a big country, but in terms of international legal construction, it still has a big gap with foreign countries. China’s voice and strength in international organizations are still relatively weak. Therefore, Professor Zhu suggested that we should have an international perspective. In addition, Professor Zhu mentioned that the road to life is not designed by himself, but affected by many related factors. We learn law not for a certain profession, but to develop a literacy, and more to cultivate a legal thinking. When talking about the experience of the International Criminal Tribunal of the former Yugoslavia, Professor Zhu said that the luckiest thing is the warmth between people in the experience of working in International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and the most impressive thing is that concerning the same legal issue, the fierce impact between different cultures.

In addition, regarding the work of international organizations, Professor Zhu also said that the work of international organizations is very specific, such as accounting, procurement, etc., and the posts are very detailed. Professor Zhu suggested not to worry, but to pay more attention to relevant information, and to collect information as comprehensively as possible before the interview: including an overview of international organizations, personal abilities, contributions that individuals can make, and so on. Professor Zhu added that we must not only think about going to international organizations, but also think about what we can do. At the end of this wonderful academic event, the host Professor He Qisheng proposed to ask the teachers to give some hope and suggestions to the students. Professor Zhang Xianglan said, “You can’t be proud of your life, you have to arrange your life well, I hope everyone is happy, and achieve academic success, family happiness, and happy life; Professor Liu Xiaohong concludes with “the dialogue ends, but the dialogue between the teacher and the student’s life is not over”; Professor Zhu Wenqi hopes that everyone will “confident, self-reliant, and ultimately self-supporting”; Professor Jin used a couplet to "read, teach, write, book with life; learn the law, protect the law, use law, rule the world"; Professor Xiao Yongping hoped that everyone would learn to be grateful and proposed to seriously cultivate talents in international law, so that International law has taken root in China, making international law truly a soft power of the country. Finally, this dialogue ended successfully in the long-awaited applause of the audience.
