The lecture of sharing internship experience in UNIDROIT and discussing its latest topics was successfully held

On September 26, the lecture of sharing internship experience in UNIDROIT and discussing its latest topics was successfully held in Wuhan University Institute of International Law which was presided by Prof. Qi Tong and the speaker is Lee Jiankun.

 

The main content of the meeting contains 2 parts: 1. Internship experience sharing; 2. Discussion about the latest topics. Lee talked about his motivation to apply for the internship in UNIDROIT and the living and working life there by posting many of his pictures taken there. He also gave some useful suggestions on how to apply for internship in international organizations such as UNIDROIT.

 

When he comes to the 2nd part of the meeting, he introduced The Human-Centered Business Model (HCBM is a project co-operated by World Bank, Global Forum on Law and Justice and Development) which was what he was now working on. He briefly told the participants about the guiding principals, legal framework, financial mechanism and the direction of the research for his team. Lee also gave a vivid introduction on the other hot topics of UNIDROIT including Agriculture, Capital Markets, Civil Procedure, Contracts, Cultural Property and Secured Transaction.

 

In the part of Q & A, Lee gave a more detailed introduction of his applying process for the organization at the request of Prof. Qi like how to write the application paper. And he then answered the question from a post-doctor about the academic research. With a student from the Boston University taking about the constitute member of the UNIDROIT and the main responsibility of the job, Lee supplement his speech and gave his own ideas.

 

Lee’s speech connects the theory with the reality which won the applause from all the participants for they found it useful as a guideline to international organization. Then Prof. Qi who was Lee’s advisor when he was still a post graduate student, commented that he was pleased to witness how much progress Lee has made these years in both the academic researching ability and other aspects.
