Christophe Bernasconi's biography: Joined the Hague Conference on Private International Law in 1997, became the first secretary in 2000, and became the Deputy Secretary-General in 2011. He is responsible for the administration of judicial assistance, the work of securities conventions, and assisting member states in implementing relevant conventions. He is Bachelor of Law, University of Fribourg, Switzerland, Master of McGill University, Montreal, Canada, Ph.D., University of Fribourg. He has served as a member of the International Lawyers Association Capital Markets Committee, a member of the International Law Association's Cross-Border Implementation Committee for Environmental Law and one of the authors of the interpretation of the Hague Securities Convention. He taught at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2000 and 2004.
