Speaker Profile: Sun Jin, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Bureau of the Supreme People's Court. He got Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral degree from the Institute of International Law of Wuhan University, and he got Master of International Law and Comparative Law from the University of Melbourne, and served as Deputy Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Houston and the director of Department of Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (currently in charge of private international law, mutual legal assistance, human rights law, treaty law, international economic law), Chinese Counsellor and Legal Adviser to the United States. He participated in the negotiations of a number of private international law conventions, such as mutual legal assistance treaties, national immunity conventions,anti-corruption conventions, the negotiations on human rights instruments, maritime convention, and China-US/China-Canada/China-Japan-Korea investment protection agreements. He is the Chinese chief negotiator, drafting committee member and bureau member of various multilateral negotiations.
