Speaker's profile: Prof. Lee is the representative of the Asian African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) at the United Nations. He was a senior official of the United Nations Secretariat from 1967 and 1998 where he worked on treaty-making, environmental law, Law of the sea, judicial settlement, the International Court of Justice, human rights and peacekeeping. In the 1990s, he was Director of the Codification Division of the Office of Legal Affairs, and Secretary of the International Law Commission, the Sixth (Legal) Committee of the General Assembly and three other treaty-making bodies. He was the Executive Secretary of the UN Conference for the Establishment of the International Criminal Court.
