I .Introduction to the Manfred Lax International Space Law Moot Court Competition

Manfred Lachs International Space Law Moot Court Competition is an annual world-class moot court competition initiated by the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) in 1992. The three current judges from the International Court of Justice personally appeared in the annual finals and thus it became one of the three highest-level moot court competitions in the world today.

In 2017, the Wuhan University Law School first formed a team to participate in the competition. Under the joint efforts of the participating team members and the instructors, they won the second price in China and the Best memorandum award, and won the Best memorandum Award in the Asia-Pacific Competitions in 2018.

At present, the Wuhan University team plans to select 4-8 students to participate in the China contest district of the International Space Law Moot Court held in December this year. The winners will participate in the Asia-Pacific Competitions held in 2019 as the Chinese team. We look forward to your participation!

II. The selection criteria

Law school undergraduate students (third, fourth), master's degree students of Wuhan University China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies or other students of related profession.

III.The selection requirements

1. Have good oral, reading and writing skills in English;

2. Master basic international law expertise;

3. There is plenty of time to prepare for the competition from the end of September to mid-December.

IV. The selection method

Application: All students who wish to participate in the competition should send their resume to WHUSpaceLawMC@163.com before 24:00 on September 23, 2018.

Interview

 Interview time: September 28, 2018 (the specific location and time of the interview will be notified by SMS or email)

Interview Form: This interview is based on the 2019 International Space Law Moot Court Competition case. Applicants should prepare a 2-minute English statement in Applicant (Suniza) or Respondent (Azasi) claims. The interviewer will register. The person stated that they would ask questions at any time.
