Introduction: Warwick Gullett got his PHD at Australian National University in 2002. He was Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) in 2012 prior to being appointed Dean of Law on 1 November 2012 until 31 December 2016. His research interests focus on legal protection of the marine environment and the international law of the sea. He is the author of Fisheries Law in Australia and co-editor of Asia-Pacific and the Implementation of the Law of the Sea: Regional Legislative and Policy Approaches to the Law of the Sea Convention and Marine Resources Management. His work has been cited by the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal, NSW Land and Environment Court and the South Australian Environment Resources and Development Court. Professor Gullett is Current Legal Developments editor for the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ocean Law and Policy.
