On May 17-20, 2019, the 2019 Cross-Strait Private International Law Symposium co-hosted by the Chinese Society of Private International Law, the Taiwan Private International Law Research Association, Shih Hsin University Law School, and the Taiwan Law Foundation was successfully held at Shih Hsin University and Chung Cheng University. More than 50 experts and scholars from research institutes and the industry from Chinese Association of Private International Law and universities in China Mainland and from Taiwan Private International Law Research Association, universities, courts, and law firms in Taiwan, attended the meeting.

Professor Xiao Yongping, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Society of Private International Law and Director of the Institute of International Law of Wuhan University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and made a speech entitled “The recognition and enforcement of set-aside arbitral award in US Courts”.

Associate Professor Liang Wenwen from the Institute of International Law of Wuhan University made a speech entitled "Mandatory Rules as Unilateralism".
