Institute of International Law of Wuhan University (hereinafter called Institute of International Law), the first Institute of International Law in Chinese universities, was established by Ministry of Education (former State Education Commission) in 1980.
1981----Establishment of doctoral programs
1995----Establishment of postdoctoral mobile research station
1996----Being selected as Key Construction Base of National “Project 211”
2000----Being approved as key research base of Humanities and Social Sciences of regular institutions of higher education by Ministry of Education
2004----Being Philosophy and Social Sciences Innovation Base of National “Project 985”
2014----Being approved as “2011 Collaborative Innovation Platform” by Ministry of Education according to the application of “Collaborative Innovation Platform on National Sovereignty & Maritime Rights and Interests” from International Law of Wuhan University
2015----Being approved as the first batch of experimental units of State High-end Think Tanks by Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee
